Tutankhamun

A Multi Award-Winning Musical

Performed by St Luke’s Arts & Drama Society

Words & Music by Paul Whittle

Back by popular demand, the multi award-winning musical Tutankhamun returns to the stage.

Previously performed at The Lowry Theatre to outstanding acclaim, this gripping and visually striking production once again brings the splendour, danger, and passion of ancient Egypt to life.

Step into the Valley of the Kings and enter a world of gold, power and prophecy. A young Pharaoh ascends the throne — charismatic, idealistic, and determined to rule in his own right. But behind the palace walls, ambition festers. Alliances shift. Secrets whisper through the corridors of the court.

At its heart lies a powerful love story between Tutankhamun and Ankhesenpaaten — tender, defiant, and set against a backdrop of political tension. As rivalries intensify and a deadly assassination plot takes shape, the question becomes clear:

Who can be trusted when the crown is at stake?

Featuring soaring musical numbers, dramatic ensemble scenes, electrifying choreography, ceremonial rituals, and moments of both humour and heartbreak, Tutankhamun is a theatrical experience filled with spectacle and emotion.

This is not simply a historical retelling — it is a story of ambition, loyalty, destiny, and the cost of power.
